ifa Cultural Heritage Scholarship 2027

Overview

ifa, Germany’s institute for foreign cultural relations, funds three to four mid-career museum and cultural-heritage professionals each year for a six-month stay in Germany. Fellows shadow a German museum or exhibition centre, develop a project around the transformation of cultural institutions, and present results at the end. The 2027 cohort closes 30 June 2026.

Eligibility

• Citizen of a country outside the European Union and the European Free Trade Association.
• Working in museum management, curation, cultural heritage policy, or a related field.
• At least five years of professional experience.
• Master’s degree or equivalent.
• Working English; German is welcomed but not required.
• A clear project idea relating to the transformation of museums and exhibition centres.
