About Scholarly Dream

Scholarly Dream is an independent website about funded scholarships for international students, wherever they come from and wherever they want to study. It is edited by Farouk Yahaya, with Ziad Maltiti writing much of the advice on applications, interviews and postgraduate study.

We focus on large, well-established scholarships that pay tuition and living costs and are open to applicants from many countries: Chevening, Fulbright, DAAD, Erasmus Mundus, the Commonwealth scholarships, Rhodes, Gates Cambridge and others, alongside national schemes such as those in Ghana. We would rather check every listing properly than publish hundreds that go stale.

How a scholarship gets onto the site

  1. 1 Choose We pick large, established scholarships that pay real costs and are open to international applicants.
  2. 2 Check at source An editor reads the funder's own pages: eligibility, what is paid, how to apply and the deadline.
  3. 3 Write it up We explain the award in plain English, with what the funder looks for and where people go wrong.
  4. 4 Recheck Each listing is checked again around the time its round opens, and the date is shown on the page.

The full process, including how we label deadlines that vary or have not been announced, is in our editorial standards.

What we do not do

We do not take applications, charge fees, or accept payment to list a scholarship. Every listing sends you to the official site to apply. If anyone asks you for money in our name, it is not us. Our guide to spotting scholarship scams shows the usual warning signs.
