APNI Young African Phosphorus Fellowship 2026
A stipend only postdoc scholarship from African Plant Nutrition Institute (APNI), based in Africa.
Overview
APNI awards up to five fellowships of USD 5,000 each to early-career African scientists conducting innovative research on phosphorus management in African agroecosystems. Recipients carry out their proposed research project at their home institution and may use funds for new field or lab research, data synthesis, or travel to collaborative institutions. The program targets knowledge gaps in phosphorus management across field crops and tree crop systems across the continent. Female scientists are especially encouraged to apply.

Eligibility
- Full-time scientists at an African NARES institution or university
- PhD already completed (postdoctoral researchers eligible; PhD students are not)
- Must submit a creative, original research proposal on phosphorus management in African agroecosystems
- Two letters of support required, including one from the direct supervisor
- CV must list date of birth, academic degrees, and relevant P-related publications
- Female scientists especially encouraged
