Scholarship and job information goes out of date quickly, and a wrong deadline can cost someone a real opportunity. This page explains exactly how we find, check, label, and correct what you read here, so you can judge how much to trust any single listing.
Where we find opportunities
We compile scholarships and jobs from official and public sources: the funder's own website, university funding pages, government and agency portals, and reputable public listings. Every listing links directly to the official page, which is always the authority. We do not run applications ourselves and we are never paid to feature a listing.
What counts as an official source
An official source is the organisation that actually runs the award or role: the funder, the university, the government body, or their named delivery partner. Aggregators, blogs, and social posts are not official sources. When a delivery partner runs a scheme on a funder's behalf (for example a university administering a foundation's scholarship), we treat the partner's own page as authoritative and link to it.
How we check deadlines
For our curated core of major scholarships, a person opens the official source, confirms the current deadline and eligibility, and records the date it was checked. That date appears in the Listing verification box on the page. Where an award genuinely has no single deadline, we say so rather than inventing one.
How we label deadline status
Every major listing carries one of four honest statuses. We would rather tell you a date is uncertain than show you a confident date that is wrong.
- Confirmed. The deadline is explicitly published for the current cycle on the official source, and we have checked it. The listing shows the date we last checked it.
- Deadline varies. The award has no single deadline. It differs by country, course, or region (for example Rhodes constituencies, or DAAD country offices). We show the key dates we can confirm and tell you to check your own.
- Not yet announced. The next cycle has not opened yet, or the official dates are not published. We never show a countdown to a guessed date. We say it is upcoming and point you to the official source.
- Auto-listed, not yet verified. The entry was gathered from a public source but a person has not yet checked it against the official page. Treat its dates as provisional until it is verified.
We never display a negative countdown, and we never present an estimated or closed date as an open one.
How often we recheck
We recheck our curated core around the point in the year when each scheme normally opens or closes, and whenever a reader reports a change. Listings outside the curated core are labelled as not yet independently verified until a person checks them.
When information changes
Deadlines, stipend figures, eligibility rules, and award counts change between cycles. When we learn of a change we update the listing and refresh its last-checked date. If a scheme is discontinued, we remove it rather than leave a dead opportunity live. If a round has closed, we mark it upcoming rather than pretend it is open.
Reporting an error
Every scholarship and job page has a Found an error? Report it link that opens a pre-filled message with the listing name and link. If you spot a wrong deadline, a broken official link, or an eligibility detail that no longer matches the source, please tell us. Corrections from readers are one of the fastest ways this site stays accurate, and we act on them quickly.
