Solutions Architect

About the role

Interswitch is an African integrated digital payments and commerce company headquartered in Lagos, processing the bulk of Nigeria’s interbank transactions through the Verve card scheme and Quickteller consumer payments product. The Solutions Architect role designs and reviews integrations for banks, fintechs, and large merchant customers. Application deadline 31 July 2026.

Responsibilities

• Lead solution design sessions with bank and fintech customers integrating to Interswitch payment rails.
• Author solution architecture documents covering APIs, security, performance, and operational readiness.
• Partner with customer technology teams from kickoff through go-live, including UAT and certification.
• Influence Interswitch product and platform roadmaps based on customer integration feedback.
• Mentor junior architects and engineers on Interswitch products and standards.

Requirements

• Seven or more years of experience in solutions architecture, integration engineering, or senior software engineering.
• Deep understanding of payments standards (ISO 8583, ISO 20022, EMV, PCI-DSS) and African payment rails.
• Hands-on experience designing high-availability systems in Java, .NET, or Python.
• Strong cloud architecture skills (AWS, Azure, or hybrid).
• Excellent stakeholder communication; comfort working with CIO and CTO audiences.

Nice to have

• Prior in-house experience at a Nigerian or African bank.
• TOGAF or AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification.
• Experience with PAPSS, NIBSS Instant Payments, or Verve scheme integrations.
