Grant and Reporting Officer - Kenya/Somalia

About the Role

Secours Islamique France (SIF) is a French humanitarian organisation operating in more than 20 countries. The Kenya/Somalia mission delivers emergency food assistance, WASH, and livelihoods programming. The Grant and Reporting Officer manages the full grants cycle for the mission, from pre-award reviews and donor narrative reports to compliance checks and close-out documentation.

The position is based in Nairobi, with monthly field visits to Somalia programme sites. Salary follows the French NGO sector scale for this grade, plus an accommodation allowance, medical insurance, and one annual return flight to country of origin.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate preparation of donor proposals and concept notes (EU, ECHO, OCHA, UN agencies, and private foundations)
• Draft and edit narrative and financial reports for active grants, meeting all donor submission deadlines
• Maintain a grants tracking system covering deadlines, reporting requirements, and budget versus actual expenditure
• Organise and facilitate kick-off and close-out meetings with programme teams
• Manage relations with donor focal points and respond to requests for clarification
• Archive all grant documents in SIF’s grants management system

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in international development, international relations, journalism, or a related humanities field
• Minimum three years of experience in grants management or donor reporting for a humanitarian or development NGO
• Strong writing skills in both English and French (both are required: SIF headquarters communication is in French; most donor reports are in English)
• Solid understanding of at least two institutional donors such as EU/ECHO, USAID, UN OCHA, or FCDO
• Prior experience working in or reporting on East Africa or the Horn of Africa

Nice to Have

• Direct experience with Somalia or Kenya programming
• Knowledge of SPHERE standards and IASC humanitarian reporting guidelines
• Familiarity with SIF thematic areas (WASH, food security, livelihoods)
