ETH Zurich Excellence Masters Scholarship Programme (ESOP) 2027
A fully funded masters scholarship from ETH Zurich, based in Switzerland.
Overview
ETH Zurich’s Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme (ESOP) funds outstanding Masters students at one of Europe’s top engineering and science universities. Awards cover tuition fully plus a substantial living stipend. Around 40 scholarships per cycle across all Masters programmes. Open to applicants of any nationality. The 2027 cycle closes 1 December 2026 for September 2027 entry.

Eligibility
- Holding a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from a recognised university with first-class or strong upper-second honours (typically top 10 percent of graduating class).
- Applying for or admitted to an ETH Masters programme starting September 2027.
- Strong English language skills (most ETH Masters are taught in English).
- Open to applicants of any nationality.
- Cannot have previously studied at ETH.
How to apply
- Apply for admission to your chosen ETH Masters programme through the ETH application portal.
- In the application form, indicate your interest in the ESOP scholarship by ticking the relevant box.
- Complete the supplementary scholarship documentation: motivation letter for the scholarship (separate from the programme motivation), two academic references.
- Submit before 1 December 2026 (this is the joint admissions + scholarship deadline).
- ESOP scholars are notified by the end of April 2027 alongside their admission decision.
