A full-time research & academia role at Aarhus University, based in Aarhus, Denmark.
About the Role
Aarhus University is offering a two-year postdoctoral position (1 September 2026 to 31 August 2028) in computational spatial proteomics and multiomics integration. The position sits at the intersection of data science, proteomics, and spatial biology, developing tools to analyse single-cell and spatially resolved protein data in combination with genomics and transcriptomics datasets. The deadline for the previous application round was 31 May 2026; check the portal for current availability.
Aarhus University is Denmark’s second-largest university with a strong international reputation in bioinformatics, molecular biology, and quantitative genomics. The Centre for Quantitative Genetics and Genomics is one of the main affiliated research units.
Responsibilities
- Develop computational methods for integrating spatial proteomics data with single-cell genomics and transcriptomics
- Build scalable analysis pipelines in Python or R for processing large-scale multiomics datasets
- Apply statistical and machine learning methods to identify patterns and biological insights in integrated data
- Collaborate with experimental biologists and clinical partners generating the datasets
- Publish findings in computational biology and life sciences journals
- Present at international proteomics, genomics, and bioinformatics conferences
Requirements
- PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, or a closely related field
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or R
- Experience with single-cell or spatial omics data analysis
- Solid statistical background including knowledge of Bayesian or machine learning approaches
- Excellent written English and ability to communicate findings to interdisciplinary teams
Nice to Have
- Experience with spatial transcriptomics platforms (Visium, MERFISH, seqFISH, or similar)
- Familiarity with proteomics data processing (MaxQuant, DIA-NN, or equivalent)
- Prior work on multiomics data integration methods
- Track record of first-author publications in computational or molecular biology
