About the Role
Norwegian Church Aid is seeking a Partnerships and Organisational Development Global Advisor to serve as a global resource across all NCA country programmes. The role is based in Nairobi and supports NCA’s work with approximately 150 local civil society partners in more than 20 countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The application deadline is 21 June 2026.
NCA is one of the largest aid organisations in the Nordic countries, working to save lives and seek lasting solutions to poverty and injustice. This position carries cross-country responsibility and requires significant travel across partner countries.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical advisory services on civil society strengthening, partnership management, and organisational development across NCA country programmes
- Design and implement partnership frameworks that support local organisations to grow their capacity and effectiveness
- Conduct organisational assessments and support country offices to identify partner development needs
- Coordinate with headquarters in Oslo and country directors to align partnership strategies with NCA’s global approach
- Document and share learning on effective partnership models across the NCA network
- Support due diligence processes and compliance requirements for partner agreements
Requirements
- Advanced degree in international development, organisational development, social sciences, or a closely related field
- Significant experience in civil society strengthening and partnership management in an international NGO context
- Proven track record working with local partner organisations in Africa or Asia
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Willingness to travel regularly across NCA’s operating countries
Nice to Have
- Professional background in East Africa, with existing civil society networks in the region
- Experience with capacity building in conflict-affected or fragile contexts
- Knowledge of Norwegian or other Scandinavian languages
- Familiarity with NCA’s areas of work including gender, climate, and humanitarian response
