About the Role

One Acre Fund is seeking an experienced Nigeria Human Resources Specialist to build and strengthen people systems at the organisation’s Nigeria programme, which serves more than 100,000 smallholder farmers. The role is based in Minna, Nigeria, and is open only to Nigerian citizens or permanent residents. The deadline to apply is 17 June 2026 on a rolling basis.

One Acre Fund provides smallholder farmers with a package of farm inputs, training, and market access. This HR Specialist position plays a direct role in scaling the organisation’s workforce and impact in Nigeria.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement people strategies covering performance management, employee relations, and regulatory compliance
  • Lead annual performance review cycles and partner with managers on performance improvement plans
  • Manage learning and development initiatives and maintain training tracker databases
  • Advise senior leadership on employee relations matters and policy application
  • Support talent management processes including probations, promotions, and transfers
  • Maintain HR dashboards, workforce metrics, and planning data to inform decision-making

Requirements

  • Seven or more years of human resources experience with strong HR business partnering knowledge
  • Expertise in performance management, employee relations, and talent management practices
  • Strong analytical and data management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English
  • HR systems and database proficiency
  • Nigerian citizenship or permanent residency required

Nice to Have

  • Professional HR certification (CIPM, SHRM, CIPD, or equivalent)
  • Experience scaling HR systems in a high-growth organisation
  • Background in agricultural development or rural-facing organizations
  • Familiarity with Nigerian labor law and compliance requirements
