About the Role
World Vision International is hiring a Programme Officer for its Global School Meals Programme, supporting the Technical Director in coordinating, implementing, and reporting on one of the world’s largest school feeding initiatives. The position is based at the East Africa Regional Office in Karen, Nairobi, and supports field offices across multiple countries. Both local and international applicants are accepted.
The deadline to apply is 16 June 2026. This is a fixed-term local employee contract covering the East Africa regional remit.
Responsibilities
- Design and oversee information management systems, dashboards, and documentation frameworks for the school meals programme
- Produce monthly dashboards, quarterly reports, and annual school meals publications in collaboration with the information management team
- Organize learning forums bringing together technical leads and field offices to share school meals evidence
- Monitor implementation of evaluation findings and ensure lessons learned are acted on
- Support donor engagement, proposal writing, and funding opportunities for school meals initiatives
- Facilitate coordination meetings, prepare presentations, and track progress against activity logs
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in community development, sociology, international studies, public health, or a related field
- Minimum five years of experience in programme development, report writing, academic research, or international NGO work
- Demonstrated experience engaging public and private donors
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Computer proficiency including data management tools
Nice to Have
- Experience working with school-based nutrition or food security programmes
- Knowledge of East Africa’s humanitarian and development landscape
- Familiarity with online information management platforms
- French or Portuguese language skills for cross-regional coordination
