A stipend only postdoc scholarship from American Association of University Women (AAUW), based in United States.
Overview
AAUW’s International Postdoctoral Research Fellowships fund women from outside the United States to pursue postdoctoral research at a US host institution. The award is USD 50,000 for a 12-month research stay. Open to women of any nationality who are not US citizens or permanent residents. Around 5 to 8 awards per cycle, drawn from a global applicant pool. The 2027 cycle closes 15 November 2026.

Eligibility
- Woman, not a US citizen and not a US permanent resident.
- Holding a doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DBA, MD, DDS, DVM, or equivalent) by the application deadline.
- Doctoral degree completed no more than 10 years before the application (some exceptions for documented career interruptions).
- Identified US host institution and faculty supervisor before applying.
- English proficient (the Fellowship is conducted in English).
- Research project that will be carried out primarily in the US.
How to apply
- Identify a US host institution and faculty supervisor at least three months before the deadline. Reach out, share your research idea, and confirm they will host you.
- Open the AAUW Fellowships portal at the source link in early September when the cycle opens.
- Complete the application: research proposal (clear, specific, 5 pages), CV, three references including one from your host institution supervisor, and proof of doctoral degree.
- Submit before 15 November 2026.
- Decisions are announced in April 2027 for fellowships starting between 1 July 2027 and 30 September 2027.
