Overview

The Cecil Renaud Educational and Charitable Trust funds South African graduates to pursue Masters study in the United Kingdom. The award is partial: it covers a meaningful portion of tuition and living costs but expects recipients to have other funding sources, scholarships, or family contributions for the balance. The 2027 cycle closes 30 September 2026.

• Aged 25 or younger at the time of application.

How to apply

2. Apply for admission to your preferred UK Masters programme first.
3. Complete the Cecil Renaud scholarship application: motivation letter, academic transcripts, two references, UK admission proof (or in-progress application), and a return-to-South-Africa undertaking.
4. Submit before 30 September 2026.
5. Shortlisted candidates are interviewed in Durban (the Trust’s home) or by video in November or December 2026. Scholars are announced before the end of the year for the next UK academic year.
