Deakin University RTP and DUPR Research Scholarships (February 2027 Intake)

Overview

Deakin University offers two concurrent research scholarships for its February 2027 intake: the government-funded Research Training Program (RTP) scholarship and the university-funded Deakin University Postgraduate Research Scholarship (DUPR). Both pay a tax-free living stipend of AUD 37,450 per year (2026 rate) and a full tuition fee offset. Top-ranked applicants receive the RTP; the DUPR covers additional high-quality candidates. The 2027 international application window runs 6 July 2026 to 23 August 2026.

Eligibility

• International students of all nationalities enrolling full-time in a Deakin HDR program
• First enrolment in an Australian Higher Degree by Research (no prior Australian HDR)
• Strong academic transcripts and a viable research proposal
• Confirmed or prospective Deakin supervisor
• English proficiency required (IELTS 6.5 overall or equivalent)

How to apply

Apply for Deakin HDR admission online during the 6 July - 23 August 2026 window; the scholarship application is submitted simultaneously in the same portal. Upload academic transcripts, a CV, a research proposal, and English test results. There is no separate scholarship application form - all eligible admitted candidates are automatically considered. Results are announced around October 2026.
