Investment Associate, Actis Africa

About the role
Actis is a leading global investor in sustainable infrastructure with USD 25 billion in assets under management. The Africa team invests in energy infrastructure, real estate, and digital infrastructure across Sub-Saharan Africa. The Investment Associate supports senior investment professionals on transaction execution and portfolio support. Application deadline 30 September 2026.
Responsibilities
- Build detailed financial models (project finance, DCF, sensitivity analyses) for prospective investments.
- Conduct due diligence: market sizing, regulatory analysis, technical reviews (in partnership with external advisors), and management assessment.
- Author sections of investment committee memos.
- Support portfolio companies on strategic projects (board reporting, refinancing, M&A).
- Track sector trends across Actis Africa focus themes.
Requirements
- Three to five years of experience in infrastructure finance, project finance, private equity, or investment banking at a top firm.
- Excellent project finance modelling skills.
- Strong understanding of African infrastructure markets and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong written communication; demonstrated examples of analytical memos.
- Authorisation to work in South Africa.
Nice to have
- Prior experience covering African energy or digital infrastructure transactions.
- French, Portuguese, or Arabic language ability.
- MBA or Masters from a top global business school.
