Investment Associate, Prosus Ventures

About the role

Naspers/Prosus is one of the world’s largest consumer internet investors, having backed Tencent, Delivery Hero, Swiggy, and many other category leaders. The Investment Associate joins the Africa investment team in Cape Town focusing on growth-stage and late-stage investments across edtech, fintech, food delivery, classifieds, and mobility. Responsibilities

• Source and screen growth-stage investment opportunities across Africa, the Middle East, and select global markets.
• Lead financial modelling, valuation, and due diligence on prospective investments.
• Author investment memos and present to the Africa investment committee.
• Support portfolio companies on strategic projects (pricing, geographic expansion, M&A).
• Track sector trends and publish quarterly market reviews.

Requirements

• Three to five years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or strategy consulting at a top firm.
• Excellent financial-modelling and valuation skills.
• Strong written communication; demonstrated examples of investment memos or strategic analyses.
• Authorisation to work in South Africa.

Nice to have

• Prior experience covering or operating consumer internet or fintech companies in Africa.
• MBA from a top global business school.
• Coding ability (Python, SQL) for market data analysis.
