Investment Analyst, TPG Rise Africa

About the role

TPG Rise Africa is the Africa-focused arm of TPG’s USD 18 billion Rise impact investment platform. The team invests USD 25 million to USD 100 million in growth-stage companies across financial services, healthcare, education, climate, and food and agriculture. The Investment Analyst supports senior investment professionals on transaction execution and impact assessment. Application deadline 15 September 2026.

Responsibilities

• Build detailed financial models (DCF, LBO, scenario analyses) for prospective investments.
• Conduct due diligence: market sizing, competitive analysis, management background, and impact assessment.
• Author sections of investment committee memos.
• Support portfolio companies on strategic and impact-measurement projects.
• Track sector trends across TPG Rise Africa’s focus themes and geographies.

Requirements

• One to three years of experience in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, or strategy consulting at a top firm.
• Excellent financial-modelling skills (DCF, LBO, three-statement modelling).
• Strong written communication; demonstrated examples of analytical memos.
• Excellent academic record from a top university.
• Authorisation to work in South Africa.

Nice to have

• Prior experience covering Africa or impact investing.
• French, Portuguese, or Arabic language ability.
• CFA Level 1 or progress toward CFA.
