Management Trainee Programme 2026

About the role

Equity Bank, one of East Africa’s largest banks by customer numbers (more than 15 million customers across six countries), runs a Management Trainee Programme for top graduates. Trainees join a 24-month rotational track designed to produce future bank managers and function heads. Application deadline 31 July 2026.

Responsibilities

• Complete induction at the Equity Leadership Academy.
• Rotate across branch banking, business banking, credit, operations, finance, technology, or digital channels (four six-month rotations).
• Deliver assigned project work for senior sponsors during each rotation.
• Pass internal banking certifications and the Equity Bank Credit Foundation programme.
• Participate in CSR initiatives through the Equity Group Foundation.

Requirements

• Kenyan citizen.
• Bachelors degree from a recognised university with first-class or upper-second honours.
• Graduated within the past three years.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills demonstrated through academic or extracurricular results.
• Willingness to work in any Equity Bank Kenya branch or in Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Sudan, or DRC after the programme.
• Maximum age 28 at application.

Nice to have

• Internship or part-time experience in financial services.
• Professional certification progress (CPA, ACCA, CFA Level 1).
• Swahili and English fluency (French an asset for DRC postings).
