Senior Product Manager, Payments
A full-time product role at Flutterwave, based in Lagos, Nigeria.
About the role
Senior Product Manager position at Flutterwave’s Lagos office, owning a major payments product line (cards, transfers, virtual accounts, payouts, or compliance). Flutterwave processes billions in cross-border African payments annually and operates in 34 African countries plus the US, UK, and EU markets. Application deadline 15 July 2026.
Responsibilities
- Own a payments product line end-to-end: roadmap, prioritisation, specs, launch.
- Work daily with engineering, design, risk, compliance, and operations teams.
- Define and report on product KPIs (transaction volume, success rate, NPS, fraud rate).
- Conduct customer research with merchants, end users, and partner banks across multiple African markets.
- Coordinate with central banks, payment scheme operators (Mastercard, Visa, PAPSS), and regulatory teams.
- Drive A/B tests, feature gating, and launch decisions based on data.
Requirements
- Four to six years of product management experience, with at least two years owning a payments, fintech, or financial product.
- Strong analytical skills with hands-on SQL and at least one analytics/BI tool (Mixpanel, Amplitude, Looker, Metabase).
- Working knowledge of African payment infrastructure: mobile money (M-Pesa, MTN MoMo, Airtel Money), interbank rails (NIBSS, GhIPSS), card schemes, and emerging instruments (PAPSS, AfCFTA payments).
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Demonstrated ability to ship features in regulated environments.
- Willingness to travel to other Flutterwave country offices and partner sites.
Nice to have
- Prior fintech experience in Africa (Paystack, Cellulant, Interswitch, M-PESA team, Mobile Network Operator).
- Compliance or risk-management background.
- MBA or Masters in finance, economics, or engineering.
- Active GitHub or product-writing presence.
