Country Manager, Nigeria

About the role

Sun King (formerly Greenlight Planet) is a leading off-grid solar company serving more than 100 million people across Africa and Asia with solar home systems and pay-as-you-go financing. The Country Manager owns the Nigeria P&L, including sales, operations, finance, and partnerships. Application deadline 31 August 2026.

Responsibilities

• Own the Nigeria P&L: revenue, gross margin, customer acquisition cost, and repayment performance.
• Lead the Nigeria team (50 to 120 reports across sales, operations, customer support, credit, and finance).
• Set and execute country strategy: distribution model, geographic expansion, product mix, and partnerships.
• Engage local regulators, financiers, and partner organisations.
• Report monthly to the President, Africa and quarterly to the global executive team.

Requirements

• Ten or more years of professional experience with five or more in P&L leadership.
• Track record of scaling consumer or distribution businesses in West Africa.
• Strong analytical and financial-modelling skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Authorisation to work in Nigeria.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in off-grid energy, consumer finance, FMCG, or telecoms.
• Existing network among Nigerian corporates, regulators, or DFIs.
• MBA from a top business school.
