Reach Oxford Scholarship 2027

Overview

The Reach Oxford Scholarship funds undergraduate study at the University of Oxford for students from low-income countries who could not otherwise afford to take up an Oxford offer. It is a small but extremely competitive scholarship: around 5 awards per cycle. Open to applicants from the countries on the World Bank low-income or lower-middle-income list, which covers most African nations. The 2027 cycle deadline aligns with Oxford’s standard undergraduate application cycle: 13 February 2027.

Eligibility

• Citizen of a country on the World Bank low-income or lower-middle-income classification (most African countries qualify; check the current list).
• Currently resident in your home country (not already studying abroad).
• Holding an offer of admission to a recognised Oxford undergraduate course.
• Unable to fund undergraduate study at Oxford without this scholarship (demonstrable financial need).
• Strong school-leaving academic record and intent to return to home country after graduation.

How to apply

1. Apply for admission to Oxford undergraduate by Oxford’s regular undergraduate application deadline (mid-October 2026).
2. Sit any required Oxford-specific admissions tests in October or November 2026.
3. If you are offered admission AND from a Reach Oxford eligible country, the college you have been admitted to will share the Reach Oxford Scholarship form with you.
4. Complete the scholarship form: financial declaration, household income, family details, three short essays, and return-to-home commitment.
5. Submit by 13 February 2027.
6. Reach Oxford Scholars are announced by the end of March 2027 for October 2027 entry.
