MAEC-AECID Spanish Government Scholarships 2027

Overview

The MAEC-AECID Scholarships are the Spanish Government’s flagship international scholarship programme, administered by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation. The programme funds Bachelor, Masters, PhD, and language study at Spanish universities for citizens of partner countries, with strong representation from Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America. Several distinct streams cover different study levels and durations. The 2027 cycle closes 30 April 2027.

Eligibility

• Spanish language proficiency at B1 or B2 level (depending on programme), or accepted to a Spanish-taught programme. English-taught programmes have separate eligibility.
• Not currently enrolled in a Spanish university.

How to apply

1. Open the AECID Scholarships page at the source link and identify the relevant stream (university Masters, PhD, research stay, language).
2. Register on the AECID online platform.
3. Submit the application: academic transcripts, Spanish or English language certificate, motivation letter, study plan, and host-institution acceptance letter (where required).
4. Submit before 30 April 2027 at 14:00 Madrid time.
5. Final scholars are announced between July and August 2027 for September 2027 entry.
