Türkiye Bursları Scholarship 2027

Overview

Türkiye Bursları is the Turkish Government’s flagship scholarship for international students. It funds undergraduate, Masters, and PhD study at Turkish universities, with around 5,000 awards each year drawn from a pool that regularly exceeds 200,000 applicants worldwide. The award covers tuition, accommodation, monthly stipend, health insurance, return flights, and a one-year Turkish-language course before your main programme. The 2027 cycle closes 20 February 2027.

Eligibility

• Citizen of a country outside Turkey (Turkish citizens, dual-citizens with Turkish, and former Turkish citizens are not eligible).
• Aged under 21 for Bachelor’s, under 30 for Masters, under 35 for PhD.
• Strong academic record: at least 70 percent for Bachelor’s, 75 percent for Masters, 75 percent for PhD; minimum 90 percent for medical programmes.
• Not currently a student at a Turkish university.
• All academic fields open, with strong preference for STEM, medicine, social sciences, and Turkish studies.

How to apply

1. Open the Türkiye Bursları portal at the source link when the cycle opens in January 2027.
2. Create an account and complete the online application: personal details, academic records, three university preferences, two programme preferences each, and two reference letters.
3. Submit your statement of purpose and additional essays.
4. Submit before 20 February 2027.
5. Shortlisted candidates are interviewed at the nearest Turkish Embassy in spring 2027. Final results are announced in July or August 2027 for September 2027 entry.
