Overview

Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) are two-year Masters delivered by consortia of European universities, with students studying in at least two countries during the programme. The EU funds about 1,800 scholarships across approximately 180 programmes each cycle. The scholarship covers tuition, living costs, travel, and insurance. Open to applicants of any nationality, with quotas reserved for non-European applicants on most programmes. Deadlines vary by programme but cluster between November 2026 and February 2027. Most close around 15 January 2027.

Benefits

  • Full tuition fees for the two-year Masters at the consortium universities.
  • Monthly living allowance: EUR 1,400.
  • Travel allowance: EUR 1,000 to EUR 4,000 depending on distance from home country.
  • Installation allowance: EUR 1,000.
  • Health, accident, and travel insurance.

Eligibility

  • Citizen of any country.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or final-year student expecting to graduate before September 2027).
  • Holding the EMJM programme’s language requirements (English for most; some require French, Spanish, German, or another European language).
  • Applying to a specific EMJM consortium’s intake for September 2027.
  • Have not previously received an Erasmus Mundus scholarship.

How to apply

  4. Submit: academic transcripts, motivation letter, references, English (or other) language proof, and any programme-specific portfolio or assignment.
  5. Submit by each programme’s deadline (most are 15 January 2027; some open until late February 2027).
  6. Results are typically announced between March and May 2027 for September 2027 entry.
